Hi, I’m Katlyn. I’m a clinical supervisor and outpatient trauma therapist here at RBMH.
Therapeutic Approach:
My therapy style is relational, always moving at a pace that feels safe and supportive. I tailor my approach to each client with therapies such as Internal Family Systems (also known as “parts work”), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I often integrate creative, somatic/body-based, and experiential methods such as bibliotherapy, creative arts, breathwork, movement, play, and sand tray into our time together. In addition, I have completed training and am approaching certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based trauma treatment specifically designed for children and adolescents.
Values & Philosophy:
Healing grows from safety, trust, and connection. I believe therapy should be a space where every part of you is welcomed with curiosity, not judgment. My approach is affirming, inclusive, and grounded in cultural humility, guided by the understanding that our personal stories are shaped by larger systems and environments. I see therapy as a partnership that helps you rediscover meaning, strength, and self-compassion.
A Little About Me:
I love reading (especially horror, thrillers, and romance!), exploring Renaissance Faires, traveling, and seeing my favorite bands in concert. I’m a lifelong learner with a deep curiosity about the human experience, often drawn to subjects like sociology, criminology, and history that help me understand people and the world more fully. For self-care, I enjoy meditation and yoga, writing, and arts & crafts.
