Hello, I’m Mike Ingrassia, LAPC, MS. I am an associate therapist here at Red Bird Mental Health.
Professional Background:
I received my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021, where I completed my internship at The Center for Autism. My field of research at PCOM explored the therapeutic use of commercial video games and their influence on distress tolerance, guided imagery, social skills, cognitive flexibility, structured problem-solving and values work. I will soon be starting the certification process in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) here at Red Bird.
Therapeutic Approach:
In treatment, I focus on the connection between the mind and body, emphasizing how our emotions tend to drive our actions. I am a self-identified geek, using pop-culture references in session and I am an advocate for the importance of humor being an integral part of the healing process.
Client Population:
I specialize in child & adolescent therapy with experience in treating anxiety, depression, and behavioral intervention through the lens of cognitive behavioral therapy. I also work with adults struggling with life changes, relationships, and identity.
A Little About Me:
In my free time, you can find me curled up on the couch with a good book or in a crowd at a concert dancing with absolutely no rhythm! I look forward to assisting you on your mental health journey.
